Marco Rocca's La Ca' Növa has become a critical darling in quite a short period of time, and we're honestly puzzled that the wines still sell for a fraction of the price of wines to which they're breathlessly compared, such as Roagna and Gaja. Their 2021 normale Barbaresco features the ethereal refinement and balance of the vintage, with aromas and flavors of blood orange, sage, tea rose and mint just beginning to coalesce into something that will age effortlessly...although we expect the engaging nature of this wine will cause most of it to be consumed young.
