This is Bérêche's Grand Cru Aÿ, based on vat-fermented, barrel-aged Pinot Noir from the Vallée de la Marne. Two small lieu-dits are in play here: Brise Pot and Froide Terre, with vines averaging 50 years of age. It's simply at the top of the Bérêche parade of Grands Crus, with Raphaël managing to express the power of the site without sacrificing elegance. This blend of 75% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay spent nearly seven years on the lees, and was disgorged in November, 2023 with a dosage 3g/L. 3,859 bottles produced.
