Bérêche's Ludes 1er Cru (Montagne de Reims) might be the best dollar-for-dollar value in their entire lineup. It's 50% Chardonnay, 50% Pinot Noir from two perfectly-situated plots, given long barrel fermentation, time on the lees, and then an astonishing 78 months' cellaring. There are incredible notes of apricot, blood orange, chamomile, acacia and fine minerals, and we suggest- as we do for all the Champagnes we offer- service in nice, large white wine glasses.
