We have a big weakness for Passetoutgrain, the unique Burgundian blend of Gamay and Pinot Noir, especially when it issues from 70 year-old vines and is a co-fermentation of the two grapes (in this case, the Pinot-Gamay ratio is 60%-40%). All the juiciness and small-berry intensity of the 2019 vintage in Burgundy are captured here in an exuberant, drink-it-now wine that still exudes class. Pierre-Henri Rougeot returned to his family domaine in 2010, instituted organics in the vineyard and a low/no sulfur regimen in the cellar and has quietly raised the profile of this classic Meursault domaine to the point where we believe it's just a matter of months before the hive mind of the international wine press "discovers" M. Rougeot. Organic.
