Aurelien Chatagnier worked with both Villard and Jamet in his early 20s, then struck out on his own, compiling his 10-hectare estate one tiny parcel at a time. His Côte Rotie comes from three steep-slope parcels in the Côte Brune: Brocarde, Bonniviere, and Côte Rosier. Together, all three sites total only 0.2 ha! As with all Chatagnier's wines, there's explosive aromatic purity here, reflective of a meticulous, low-intervention program. 100% Syrah and organic.
