Gilles Gasq made his name working with Paul Jeune at the late, great Domaine Monpertuis in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Since then, he's taken his own estate, Domaine de la Manarine, to the very top of the list for well-made southern Rhône wines whose prices are so reasonable, we always do a double take when the invoice comes. Gasq's sole white wine is a blend of Clariette and Bourboulenc from the Plan de Dieu. Its fine texture and length on the palate come from extended lees contact, making it the perfect introduction to the often-overlooked white wines of the region. 200 cases made.
