We can't get enough of the Romorantin grape, and this rare variety reaches its pinnacle in the tiny Loire Valley appellation of Cour-Cheverny. François Cazin's was one of the very first of these wines to reach an American audience, and it's been part of natural wine pioneer Joe Dressner's portfolio for years. Aromas and flavors of lime, orange and fennel- with an oily, Chenin-like texture- abound. Although Romorantin is a naturally acidic grape, Cazin's Vendanges Manuelles cuvée always exhibits incredible richness and balance. It's versatile with a wide range of foods, yet interesting enough to enjoy on its own, with just a bit of cheese or a good sourdough ficelle. Sustainable farming.
