Stephanie Fumoso, daughter of longtime proprietor Aline Bonfils, is among the most fiercely traditional of Gigondas producers. No new oak is employed, and the wines are always a minimum of 85% Grenache. The 2017 here is, as expected, a bit of a "sleeper" of this vastly underrated vintage. Expect aromas and flavors of game and Oriental spice (typical of this property), as well as a good bit of dusty, fine tannin. To our taste, there is no better Gigondas than those that issue from this superb estate!
