Tasted blind, one might guess this to be Right Bank Bordeaux. However, once it opens in the glass, it's very obviously Friuli, with a lovely texture, medium weight and flavors of cigar wrapper, cocoa powder, plum and raspberry. It's very evident that good, old vines are in play here, as the pyrazenes (the "green" in many Cabernet Francs) are dialed down, and the finish is long and persistent. Sustainable farming.
