The village of Marsannay lies north of Gevrey in the Côte de Nuits, and the best Pinot Noirs of the commune offer the raspberry/cassis fruit and minerality of its more famous neighbor, albeit at a fraction of the price. And the Marsannays made by Charles Audoin- especially the Marie Ragonneau cuvée- are the kinds of wines that you can drink now or squirrel away for 5-7 years.
