The Côte de Beaune village of Monthelie is tucked into a little valley adjacent to Meursault and features vineyards which almost entirely face south, so it's no surprise that this Pinot Noir balances ripeness and cherry-fruited intensity while remaining quite poised. Quite the value here, given the stratospheric prices of more famous adjacent villages.
