Clément Boillot, son of Louis Boillot and Ghislaine Barthod, vinifies Cru Beaujolais under his father’s label. These are old-school, Burgundian wines that reflect low yields and a certain sappiness (“sêve”, in French) more common to Pinot Noir than Gamay. If your experiences with Beaujolais have been either unfortunate encounters with gooey, factory-made swill or the weedy, expensive stink juice of the natty wine set, don’t pass judgement on the region until you try these. There are literally no better values to be had when it comes to the best wines of France!
