The Durand family has farmed the beautiful, often-overlooked cru of Rasteau since 1850, and current proprietor Helen Durand moved the estate into organics (certified 2010) to great result. The Les Cras cuvée is dominated by Grenache- just the way we like it- with a huge bouquet of fraises and hot, dusty minerals. It manages to be big, but not overwhelming in body and texture, and it's a perfect wine to serve alongside all kinds of Rhône-ish/Provençal roasts, grills and stews. Organic, practicing biodynamic.
