
To call Lambert's stainless steel-raised Cabernet Franc his "early drinking" cuvée gives short shrift to both the incredible collection of walled little plots on the hill of Brézé and the obsessive care that Lambert takes with the scores of individual cuvées he produces under both his own name and the Château de Brézé label. His organic, low-intervention, minimal sulfur approach yields wines of unusual detail, lovely textures and a completeness that can only be traced to Lambert's willingness not to do any more than is necessary with the perfect fruit that he so painstakingly harvests year after year.
