We find this to be the cleanest and most consistent of Bea's reds. It's 70% Sangiovese, 15% Sagrantino and 15% Montepulciano, all from a 50-year old vineyard at 1,300 feet altitude. Like all of Bea's reds, there's an extensive cuvaison, with a 30-day maceration before being racked into stainless steel for a three-year rest, followed by a few months in bottle before release. If there's a better red wine in Umbria, we have yet to taste it!
