Champagne native Brice Omont's Domaine des Ardoisières is one of France's most celebrated newer estates, producing an exciting, detailed range of Savoie reds and whites. His electric 2021 "Agile" (a blend of Gamay and Persan) reflects an airy, ethereal tension between the two grapes and is made in the most hands-off manner possible: indigenous yeast fermentation, minimal filtration and only one gram added sulfur at bottling. This is an excellent introduction to the wines of Savoie for both novice and experienced wine lovers. Organic, biodynamic principles, minimal/no sulfites.
