Mallory and Benjamin Talmard ply their trade in the tiny Maconnais hamlet of Chardonnay, and they make but one wine...but what a wine it is: a fresh, crisp, apple blossom-scented elixir that frankly shames the plonk that many of us have come to associate with "stainless steel Chardonnay". In the case of the Talmards, no expense is spared- from night harvest of fruit, to vinification of 18 different parcels from the vineyards of Uchizy in 18 different tanks, to meticulous blending- in order to deliver a wine that wouldn't be out of place next to the great Chardonnays of the Côte d'Or. If this doesn't appeal to the purist in you, nothing will!
