The Costa family's Caves São João is one of the most established pioneers of Champagne method sparkling wines in the ocean-cooled Portuguese province of Bairrada. Their Rosé Bruto 2021, fashioned from 60% Baga and 40% Touriga Naçional, features aromas of strawberry, raspberry, rose petal and white pepper. It's possibly the best value in sparkling wine we've found in our five years of existence, and though it's not Champagne, it represents incredible value and pairs incredibly well with sushi, fried foods (especially fried chicken!) and is also a perfect sparkler for apéro hour, picnics and celebrations.
