This Grenache-dominant Châteauneuf from the cooler soils of the sandy part of this famed appellation is in many ways a "throwback" wine, featuring aromas and flavors of fraises, mulberry, kirsch and garrigue...yet it's not at all heavy, jammy or hot with excessive alcohol. Proprietor Gilles Gasq learned his craft well from the iconic Paul Jeune, and this wine is the crown jewel of the Gasq collection.
