Pauline Passot has become a critical darling, as her wines represent incredible value and the very best of traditional winegrowing in Beaujolais. Her Chiroubles "La Grosse Pierre" is her self-titled "young vines" cuvée, even as this vineyard's Gamay plantings approach 50 years of age! Not surprisingly, the wine is deeply concentrated and features nuances such as woodsmoke and roasted game bird on top of Chiroubles' tension between red and black fruits. First rate!
