As always, this is sourced from an old vine villages-level parcel of Beaux Bruns and has always represented both good value and a sort of primer into the essence of the appellation. I'm not a big fan of describing Burgundy in terms of "feminine" and "masculine", but this is an unmistakably feminine, aromatic wine with the same structure and amplitude that mark the more masculine surrounding crus of Morey (to the south) and Gevrey (to the north). Clément Boillot has hit his stride in taking over the domaines of both Louis Boillot and Ghislaine Barthod, and this 2023 is an expressive, yet balanced presentation of Chambolle.
