Les Frères Moussé, operated by brother Mathieu and Nicolas, are a 12th generation small firm situated in Cuchery, Vallée de la Marne, and turn out tiny quantities of superb, well-priced Champagne. Their "1629" cuvée features 50% Meunier, 20% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, with a dosage of 5.5gL. There's a fine, chiseled elegance here that's unusual for Meunier-heavy Champagnes, and the gentle price- given that this wine shows well against competitors in the $75-$80 range- makes it a real buy!
