The impeccable Chardonnay-based Champagne from Diebolt-Vallois isn't better known in the United States because most of this house's production is sold to private clients in Europe and to England's perennial Michelin 3-star temple of gastronomy, Le Gavroche. Demand only increased when Diebolt-Vallois was featured in the movie, A Year In Champagne. This particular selection (disgorged March, 2024, with a dosage of 3g/L cane sugar) hails primarily from the crus of Cuis and Cramant and is redolent of lime leaf, citrus and the barest hint of lemongrass. To our taste, it represents possibly the best value available in Blanc de Blancs Champagne.
