Nancy Irelan's Limnad project takes her vast knowledge of Finger Lakes sparkling wine and applies it to both Méthode Champenoise and Pét-Nat expressions. Her apple blossom-scented 2020 Blanc de Blancs (100% Chardonnay) is a pure, graceful and lifted wine that subtly balances terroir and grape. The natural inclination is to compare it to Champagne, but we prefer to see it as a glimpse of the heights sparkling wine can achieve in our area.
