The Kurayoshi distillery is located at the foot of Mount Daisen and is also close to the Sea of Japan, whose radical temperature shifts affect Kurayoshi's whiskies in a similar way to Islay, seemingly accelerating the aging process. The San-In is a blend of the distillery's own single malt and several sourced single malts. From the distillery:
"Barrel aging has infused San-In with a faint vanilla aroma and fruity notes of pear on the finish. The fresh, underground water of Mount Daison delivers a smooth, mellow taste in this nice and balanced whisky."
