We've found the wine that will be on our table all winter long, and we think from your very first taste, you'll agree: it's Barnstormer's exquisite 2023 Blaufränkisch, hailing from the Martini Family-managed Nutt Road Vineyard on the west side of Seneca Lake. Barnstormer's winemaker, Taylor Stember, has pulled off the rare feat of making a truly medium-bodied and beautifully aromatic FLX Blaufränkisch that's an expression of balance and lift rather than being an inky, oaky powerhouse. There's a suggestion of almost Burgundian grace in the subtle notes of warm spice and cherry pastille here, and the wine is engaging in the manner of the very best Austrian Blaufränkisch (think Roland Velich's Moric wines).
