
Ian Barry is one of our region's most well-travelled, skilled and experienced winemakers and one of its biggest trailblazers in low-intervention winemaking and creative use of both hybrid and vinifera grape varieties. His "day job" as the winemaker at Six Eighty Vineyards has him using an assortment of amphorae across a dizzying range of grapes and fermentation techniques.
His own project, Barry Family Cellars, is the ideal small Finger Lakes winery. Ian and his father, Ken, work with small quantities of grapes from the very best growers and guide the wines into bottle with minimal intervention.
