Camille Wallut's mountaintop estate at Beaumes-de-Venise is a wild, remote landscape where the famed mistral never stops blowing. And, as one might imagine, Syrah plays a more important role in the red wines made here than at other estates closer to sea level. There's definitely Grenache and Mourvèdre in the blend here, but the star is that Syrah: cool, crunchy and focused.
