Our first encounter with this not-so-subtly named (White Horse = Cheval Blanc) homage to Bordeaux' Right Bank was Les Bloomers' superlative 2013 bottling. And darn it, that wine- and every subsequent vintage- takes us right to the best 1er Cru Classés of Saint-Émilion with the subtle, savory interplay of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Ripe raspberry, cigar wrapper leaf and a hint of cocoa are the primary aromas and flavors on display in a wine we consider to be the most complete and satisfying red made anywhere in the Finger Lakes.
