Count on Jean-François Germain to make a Bourgogne Rouge that is the very definition of "overperformer": a spicy, cranberry-snappish, rose hip-and-spice scented gem that actually hails from a tiny plot of 50 year-old Pinot Noir within the mostly white wine appellation of Meursault. We'd have no issue at all placing this wine into any tasting of Volnay or Volley 1er Cru to the more feminine side...making this a stellar value!
