Pre-phylloxera Tintore di Tramonti vines yield a preciously tiny amount of juice that becomes Tenuta San Francesco's È'iss, which we'd simply describe as a tour-de-force of Italian viniculture. The volcanic soils to which these ancient vines are planted impart aromas and flavors of blackberry, ash, graphite and wild herbs in a perfect, seamless presentation that suggests this wine will probably still be vigorous and evolving in 30 years.
