Jean-François Germain makes a wonderful Chassagne-Morgeot from a plot within the vineyard called Fairendes, which for us is the top Chardonnay cru of the southern part of the appellation. The color is a bit deeper and more golden than Jean-François' Meursaults, and the aromas and flavors of white peach, toasted almond and honeycomb dominate. Expect this 2021 to immediately show the refinement and delicacy of the "throwback" 2021 vintage...and then expect it to evolve slowly over a long life.
