Jean-François Germain makes a wonderful Chassagne-Morgeot from a plot within the vineyard called Fairendes, which for us is the top Chardonnay cru of the southern part of the appellation. The color is a bit deeper and more golden than Jean-François' Meursaults, and the aromas and flavors of white peach, toasted almond and honeycomb dominate. Expect this 2018 to become quite the dense and commanding wine in 4-6 years' time...if you can wait that long!
