Quinault L'Enclos, which began as one of the Right Bank's pioneering and boisterous "gargiste" wineries, has matured over the years into a star producer of chiseled, understated and balanced expressions of Saint-Emilion. Of course, a sale of the property to the ownership group of Cheval Blanc in 2008 and the vineyards' eventual direction into organic viticulture by none other than Pierre Lurton could not have resulted in anything less. We find the 2019 to be one of the unsung stars of the vintage (as does everyone in the wine press), and the price is nothing less than a terrific bargain. Organic.
