Cocchi's Muscat- based aperitivo, the Americano, actually has nothing to do with Americans. It's a Piemontese dialect rendition of "amaro", the Italian category of aromatized, lightly fortified wines infused with a range of spices, herbs and botanicals. Cocchi's Americano fuses the wonderfully aromatic Muscat to gentian, cinchona, bitter orange peel, rhubarb, juniper, coriander, rose, and mace. Delightful!
