Here's one of the great Roussillon reds, a tangle of Grenache, Carignan, Syrah and Mourvèdre that hails from the black schists of the Pyrenees foothills in the seaside village of Collioure, a scant six miles from the Spanish border. The black schist and famous Tramontane breezes from the north impart a signature minerality and cut that's almost saline in character, with aromas and flavors of dark berry and bramble. Sustainable farming.
