One of the Upper Piedmont's most beautiful and graceful expressions of Nebbiolo grown in granitic soils. In only fifteen years, Luca de Marchi- now also in charge of winemaking at the flagship Tuscan estate, Isole e Olena- has turned his old family estate and cellar into one of the great wineries of Italy. And the 2019 lineup of wines here merits the same attention as Barolo and Barbaresco to the south. As always, the wine suggests upon opening a great villages-level Chambolle...and as time passes, the classic Nebbiolo aromas and flavors emerge, along with the fresh, lifted almost piney accents associated with Alpine reds.
