Emeric Foléat began Les Matheny as possibly the most scrutinized vigneron in Jura, as he spent an eight-year apprenticeship at the side of Jacques Puffeney, a legend of French winegrowing. His Vin Jaune, sourced from a plot close to the famed Château-Chalon, offers an incredible interplay of fruit and oxidative elements in a powerful, deeply structured and compelling beverage that it's hard to imagine will ever have a downside to its life. There are only 200ish 620ml clavelins bottled each vintage, so we feel fortunate to have a few on hand! Practicing organic; no intervention/no addition winemaking.
