One-man gang Matt Denci has wowed us with his first commercial sparkling wine release, a leesy, Sekt-styled sparkling Riesling made with free-run juice from the Long Rows section of Lahoma Vineyard. Much in the style of the very best German Sekt, this gorgeous wine spent 36 months on the lees (disgorged in August, 2023) and sports a pleasingly low 9g/L dosage. The brioche-like autolytic aromas and flavors are well-paired to an exquisite texture and impressively subtle and filigreed Riesling flavors. It is easily the best Finger Lakes sparkling Riesling we've tasted in recent years!
