Stephanie Fumoso, daughter of longtime proprietor Aline Bonfils, is among the most fiercely traditional of Gigondas producers. No new oak is employed, and the wines are always a minimum of 85% Grenache. The 2022 here is, as expected, an accurate reflection of this hot, dry year...yet it manages not to be cloying or dulled by excessive alcohol. Expect aromas and flavors of game and Oriental spice (typical of this property), as well as a good bit of dusty, fine tannin. To our taste, there is no better Gigondas than those that issue from this superb estate!
