Dominique Gober and Gerald Freinbichler met when they worked together in the cellar of the famous Franz Weninger, one of Austria's most celebrated producers. With Franz’s encouragement, they decided to renovate an old garage winery and a few hectares of Blaufränkisch vineyards, and the pair haven't looked back since. The 2024 Gober & Freinbichler Blaufränkisch has fruit from two villages in Burgenland, Neckenmarkt and Horitschon, exactly half from each. As with all their wines, this is a Blaufränkisch that's balanced and lifted, very much a departure from the fat, intense, heavy wines that have become the norm in this appellation. Organic.
