The genius of Julien Cruchandeau is best expressed in his "minor" appellation Pinot Noir. There's always a serious approach (in this case, a pre-ferment cold maceration of ten days, followed by frequent pump-overs and punch-downs) that yields a wine that's far more than the sum of its parts. The crunchy blackberry fruit and persistent minerality is more than suggestive of a far more expensive wine from the lower slopes of Burgundy just a few miles away.
