This vinifera cross of Gewürztraminer and Madeline Angevine was created in 1929 by the famous Dr. Georg Scheu (as in Scheureube). Its winter hardiness makes it a natural for the Finger Lakes, and winemaker Vanessa Hoffman makes a spicy, aromatic and beguiling version that’s become one of our favorite local wines. Outstanding!
