Nancy Irelan's Limnad project takes her vast knowledge of Finger Lakes sparkling wine and applies it to both Méthode Champenoise and Pét-Nat expressions. Her 2022 Pét-Nat takes whole bunch-pressed, wild fermented Riesling and finishes it in the bottle, unfined and unfiltered. It is precise, true to the grape and faithful to the exuberance and energy we expect from Pét-Nat, minus the funky, natty overtones that can sometimes detract from these wines. Superb!
