Fifth-generation proprietor Christine Gruère-Dubreuil ably manages her family's Côte de Beaune firm, which has always produced what are, to our taste, perfect examples of the many appellations in which they farm. Although they have extensive holdings in Pernand, including the monopole, Clos Berthet, we love the villages Blanc for its accessibility and value. In 2022, this broad, super-typical Pernand Blanc was vinified half in stainless, half in barrel (10% of that in new barrel), giving a wine redolent of barely ripe peach, pear blossom and almond.
