Yannick Amirault began converting to biodynamic practices over twenty years ago, and his efforts over the years are most apparent in his beautifully-sited, old vines holdings in Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgeuil (an appellation that to us is synonymous with its neighbor, Bourgeuil, as its creation was only possible because the local mayor convinced the INAO to create a separate designation in the 1930s). The 2021 La Mine distinguishes itself with typical redcurrant/cranberry snap, along with notes of bay leaf, salvia and cigar wrapper leaf. Superb! Practicing biodynamic.
