The limestone-rich soils of the southern Rheinhessen are an excellent canvas for Pinot Blanc, and Florian Fauth's Seehof is one of the very best at capturing its lift and freshness, while avoiding the ponderous and lactic overtones that sometimes come along for the ride. In Florian's hands, Pinot Blanc is a serious rival to Chardonnay, and this bottling is a great introduction to the utility and value of this grape in the German pantheon.
