David Stevens' Shelter project fully took advantage of the spectacular growing season in 2014 to craft a big, dark-fruited Zinfandel from both Napa and Sonoma parcels. It was fermented in stainless steel and raised in both American and French oak, a portion of which was new. Blackberry, boysenberry, baking spice and a lashing of black pepper feature in both the nose and palate of this perfectly mature, ready-to-drink beauty of a Zinfandel. And, yes...this is exactly the same wine that's featured at $29-$35 in wine stores nationwide!
