Juan José Ledezma's Terroir Sonoro project in Chile's Bio-Bio Valley is a treasure trove of extremely old vine (in the case of this Malbec, 150 year-old vines!) wines that speak to their unique origins in a country that's never been touched by the ravages of phylloxera. And these great old vines yield a wine that tastes much more like a top notch Cahors than anything else. We've never tasted a Malbec from Chile before- and we may never taste one again- but we'll stock this wine for as long as we can! Blackberry aromas and flavors, married to a firm core of almost ferrous minerality, practically scream for a cassoulet, duck confit or pot of stewed white beans.
