Pintia is a massive Tinto de Toro of unctuous richness, low acidity and generally all the things we studiously avoid in the selection of "important" wines for our TFWR collection. However, it manages to confound us every year by being light on its feet, balanced (although balanced like a dancing bear on a tightrope) and- most of all- absolutely riveting, in the way that all the great red wines we've ever tasted tend to be. Many refer to this as Vega Sicilia's "newer" project, but that's a wholly reductive and dismissive description.
